Choosing the Right Trade Show Booth Style

Choosing a Trade Show Booth Style | Nimlok Orlando
The size and location of your space at a trade show - as well as your show goals - will play a factor in which style exhibit you should choose.

One of the biggest questions to ask yourself before designing and building a custom trade show booth is, “What type of booth design is best suited for my business?” While there’s no universal answer to this question, there are multiple options that can be taken into consideration. Depending on the size and location of your space on the showroom floor will also determine which exhibit style will work best for your show goals.

Island Booths

Island booths typically measure 20×20 in size (or larger). These are ideal for trade show booth locations that are right in the center of the show floor, as opposed to being up against a wall or in a corner. Much as the name would suggest, an island exhibit is exposed on all sides to the trade show aisles, thus encouraging foot traffic from all directions.

Peninsula Booths

Peninsula booths can vary in size, but are usually designed based on a 20×20 footprint. A peninsula booth is well suited for a space where your booth location is up against a wall on one side, or where foot traffic isn’t available on all four sides. With a peninsula-style booth, the exhibit itself is exposed on three sides and closed off on one.

In-Line Booths

In-line booth designs are one of the most popular options, as they involve the use of a space that’s surrounded on at least one side or backed up to another exhibit. Since the majority of exhibit spaces are set up this way at most venues, an in-line exhibit design works to maximize space and functionality by making the most of the floor space available.

In-Line Corner Booths

Finally, if you have a trade booth location that’s in a corner and more or less surrounded, in-line corner booths are often the ideal solution. These exhibits are set up to be surrounded on several sides by other exhibits, creating one central focal point that draws in foot traffic and allows you to create a lasting impression for your brand.
